Jhelum is a city and one of the districts of Punjab Province of Pakistan. According to notification No. SOR(LG)44-07/2015 dated February 16, 2017 of the Government of Punjab Local Government & Community Development, Jhelum District has been divided into 44 union councils. Jhelum is a small district as compared to others. According to 2023 census conducted by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, population of this district is 1,382,308.
The city of Jhelum, situated on the banks of the Jhelum River, is famous for its ancient sites like Rohtas Fort.
